Watch: NZ woman arrested over alleged intoxicated behaviour on flight

A New Zealand woman was arrested in Sydney after alleged intoxicated behaviour aboard a flight bound for Queenstown, the Australian Federal Police say.

Police allege the 50-year-old danced in the aisle while the aircraft was taxiing, ignored crew instructions and swore at cabin staff. The flight returned to the gate and requested assistance to remove her from the aircraft.

She allegedly became argumentative and non-compliant when asked to leave, and was removed by federal police officers so the flight could depart. She was later released from custody and returned to New Zealand the following day.

Australian authorities used the incident to repeat a familiar warning ahead of the travel season: disruptive behaviour on aircraft carries criminal consequences and can delay hundreds of other passengers.
