Springboks demolish All Blacks in humiliating Wellington defeat

South Africa demolished the All Blacks in Wellington, handing New Zealand one of the heaviest defeats in the team's history.

The visitors did precisely what they had signalled after Eden Park. They dominated the set piece, punished every infringement, and turned the middle of the field into a place the All Blacks could not go forward.

The scoreline was the most damning part, but the manner was worse: for long stretches the home side had no answer at the collision and no way to build phases against a defence that came off the line with impunity.

Coach Scott Robertson offered no excuses afterwards, and the questions that followed were about far more than one bad night at the Cake Tin.
