Carlos Sainz penalty overturned after Dutch GP clash with Liam Lawson

Carlos Sainz has had his Dutch Grand Prix penalty overturned following a review of his collision with Liam Lawson.

Sainz was originally handed a ten-second penalty for the incident, which damaged both cars and effectively ended his race in contention. His Williams team lodged a right of review with new evidence, arguing the stewards' original assessment did not reflect what the data showed.

The stewards accepted the review and rescinded the penalty, restoring Sainz's classification from the race.

For Lawson, the outcome changes nothing about a weekend already lost, but it does remove the formal finding that another driver was at fault for it.
