A CV is a marketing document with a legal floor. Fabricating a qualification or an employment date is fraud and is routinely caught in verification. But volunteering the reason you left a job, the gap you took for health reasons, or your least successful project is not honesty so much as poor editing.
Recruiters read for relevance and pattern. Detail that does not advance the case for an interview competes for attention with detail that does.
The practical test is whether an omission would mislead an employer about your ability to do the job. If it would not, leaving it out is judgement, not deception.
