'The Beast' branded 'worst loser in the world' by fellow Chaser

The Chase star Mark Labbett, known to viewers as The Beast, has been described as the worst loser in the world by fellow Chaser Darragh Ennis.

Ennis, who joined the UK quiz show in 2020 as The Menace, made the comments on the podcast Dempsey's Dozen, recalling an episode in which Labbett walked off set after losing in the final seconds.

He was careful to frame it as competitiveness rather than bad character, saying Labbett would not mind the description and that while some of the reaction is played up for the cameras, the frustration is genuine.

Ennis added that all the Chasers take losing seriously, which is part of why the format works: the contestants are playing against people who really do not want to be beaten.
