Bonnie Tyler in induced coma after emergency surgery

Singer Bonnie Tyler has been placed in an induced coma after undergoing emergency surgery, according to a statement from her representatives.

The Welsh singer, known worldwide for Total Eclipse of the Heart and Holding Out for a Hero, was taken to hospital after falling ill.

Her team asked for privacy while she recovers and said further updates would be provided when there was news to share.

Scheduled performances have been postponed.
